The Way Suzanna Speaks Director Ali Miller

Ali Miller has helmed devised theatre projects for Arena Stage’s Community Engagement programs, Imagination Stage’s Speak-Out on Stage Ensemble, and Firebelly Productions. She most recently produced and co-directed the yearlong project How to Be a Human, which culminated in a critically acclaimed run at the 2010 Capital Fringe Festival. Ali has worked with local theatres including Constellation Theatre Company, The Studio Theatre, The African Continuum Theatre Company, Classika-Synetic Theatre, and MetroStage. She studied devised theatre with Michael Rohd as part of the Sojourn Theater Summer Institute and acting with The Atlantic Theater Company in Manhattan. She holds a theatre degree from The College of William and Mary, is Director in Residence for the South Asian Performing Arts Network (www.sapanarts.org) where she is developing a devised theatre project for Spring 2011, and is the managing director of American Ensemble Theater (americanensemble.org).
